JellyBath, not sure if you have ever heard of it but I bought a package about a year ago and decided today to try it out(found it in the back of the closet). I am not much for baths - I actually avoid them - something about sitting in standing water in my own filth (no - I am not dirty, just the thought kinda skeeves me out). Let me tell you, it was one of the best baths (other than Mr. Bubble when I was a kid) that I ever had.
JellyBath is has (2) parts to it packaging. (1) is the actual stuff you put in tub to make JellyBath and the second solution you put in bath after your bath to dissolve the jellybath.
I did not think to take picture of the internal packages (sorry) they were both white powder.
You fill the tub 3/4 the way full with warm/hot water, then pour the JellyBath in, give it a quick swirl with your hand to mix the stuff into the water and step it. It is like you stepped into a glove that feels like loose warm tapioca pudding. Once I laid down into the bath it felt like a warm blanket being put over me. The consistency, is jelly. It's weird to explain but it was wonderful!
I do not remember where I got it, but I found the website online so you can see other scented options this company sells, http://www.jellybath.com/ The bad thing is this stuff is $24 a box. It's not like you can do this every week (unless you are rich). BUT....instead of treating yourself with food when you hit a goal, this is something worth trying at least once!
The downside (at least for me) is we have a tub/shower combined - after you are done with the jellybath you have to pour in the solution to dissolve the jelly, if you don't you can clog your pipes. The dissolving stuff has to sit in water 15-20 minutes. I had to rinse off in the tub while standing in knee deep water. If you have a tub and shower separate then you have no problems.
This past week was a busy one and this coming week is looking to be just about the same. I hope your weekend was wonderful and you are getting geared up and prepared - Are your healthy meals and snacks ready to go? Don't get caught grabbing something fattening because you weren't prepared!
Have a GREAT Night....Let's Kick Butt this week!!!!
Remember that white paste you had in kindergarten, some kids ate it, mostly it ended up in your hair. Well, that's what buckwheat cereal tastes like -or- like wallpaper paste. Other than lunch - I added a pinch of cinnamon to give it some flavor.
Per the package it's a Good Source of Fiber and Buckwheat is actually a fruit (I did not know that), not a grain and is wheat free (good or a gluten free diet). It is one of the best plant sources of protein and rich in lysine, which is an amino acid that is in short supply in many grains. It is also an excellent source of magnesium, which helps relax arteries and promote blood circulation. Eating Creamy Buckwheat may also postpone your hunger pangs. According to a USDA Study and other research, buckwheat will keep glucose levels in check better than other carbohydrates. (All this info off the back of the package).
Picuture is one serving (2 oz) which is 1/4 cup of buckwheat.
Buckwheat Cereal portion for the day: 6 oz buckwheat grains, add 3/4 L of boiling water and boil for 10 minutes on low heat
The day went well and I have to admit, the Buckwheat was VERY filling!
Below is a conversation (I seriously think I was the only one actually in a conversation) that happened at my local Shop Rite. Keep in mind I went in for (5) items, no one in line ahead of me and it took me 15 minutes to get through the check-out:
I threw a pack of gum on belt with my items and it started this conversation:
Check-out guy: Is that for me?
Me: No, but if you would like some I'll buy you a pack
Check-out guy: No that's okay, it's my birthday
Me: Really? That's nice, Happy Birthday
Check-out guy: Well, actually today is not my birthday, it was Thursday, but tonight I have a birthday party.
Me: How nice for you.
Check-out guy: I have two Halloween parties to go to
Me: (confused) So what are you going to be?
Check-out guy: Guess.
Me: I have no idea. Spiderman, Batman, Superman?
Check-out guy:(he laughs) no I am not going as any superhero
Two uncomfortable minutes of silence
Check-out guy: And I am not going as a comic book character either
Me: I have no idea
Check-out guy: Well I can't tell you who the main actor is or you'll guess
Me: (to myself...Isn't that the point??)
Me: Okay, I really have no idea
Keep in mind, I am checked out and just have to swipe my credit card at this time
Check-out guy: It was movie that had 3 series
Me: Star Wars, 3CPO, R2D2
Check-out guy: Nope
I am done swiping credit card and gotta know what the heck this kid is talking about
Check-out guy: The movie is from 1984
Me: I have no idea
Check-out guy: (he mumbles out a line of the movie and all I got was Zarkana)
Me: I got nothing, what is
Check-out guy: I can't tell you because then you would know
Me: ?????????? Isn't that the point of this conversation????? It wouldn't matter I am not going to either of the parties you are going to
Check-out guy: Still can't tell you
Me: (walking away) mumbling to myself that I have got to stop being pulled into conversations with teenagers
What it comes down to is, there went 15 minutes of my life I will never get back and I still don't know what the hell this kid is going to be for Halloween. It's like reading a book all the way to the end and finding the last page missing (seriously, it's happened to me)....
Another late post and hopefully the last late post for this diet. This cereal week has worked out pretty good so far. Being this week was a stressful, running around week and I haven't had much time to think about being hungry, having cereal for all my meals has been convenient.
With that said, I took the completely lazy way out today. Trader Joe's Steelcut Oatmeal, for all three meals. Not much of a choice since I overslept and had to grab all three meals to take with me.
Breakfast: Trader Joe's Steelcut Oatmeal, 1/2 cup warm (nuked) milk
Dinner: cereal + sugar substitute + 1 grated apple + juice of 1 lemon
I did the same for dinner tonight and had the apple on the side
Kickboxing tonight, which I missed, I got stuck in traffic on my way home, had to get gas and basically got home about the time class starts. I did a quick 1/2 hour on the treadclimber to get some exercise in.
Not much news today, just a long day and looking forward to getting a little reading in before bed. I hope your day went well and you are getting geared up for he weekend (making sure you get some "YOU" time in)
Last night at kickboxing, I had the experience only some can relate to and some wish to never have to commit to it happening to them. One of these pictures represents me and the additional friend I brought with me into class. I usually hit the bathroom for a last minute pee before class (I have to, it's a 30-40 minute ride just for me to get there)...I ran in quick, did the whole cover the toilet seat with toilet paper thing and about 10-15 minutes into class I look to my left and there is a piece of toilet paper about a foot long on my left side. Since no one is near me - I knew, I either walked in with it on my shoe or somehow it attached itself to me like a parasite from a bad SYFY movie. I have no idea where that sucker was before it landed next to me but my husband got a good laugh out of it when I told him about it. Since he pretty much knows nothing embarrasses me, he didn't even ask. When we took a water break, I just picked it up and tossed it like everything was normal.
Trust me, I've walked out into the center of a crowded room with the entire back of my dress shoved in my pantyhose, in addition to, it's pretty much a sure bet, I will walk into a wall or fall down for no reason - - NOTHING EMBARASSES ME.
For the record, neither one of these pictures is me personally.
I actually find this funny.
If you can't laugh at yourself, you shouldn't be laughing at anyone else!!
Millet Cereal Day: 6 oz millet whole grains, add 3/4 L of boiling water and boil for 30 minutes on low heat
As I had said in the write up of this week's diet - it's going to be a busy week. Every night I have things to do after work, so some blogs might be normal time uploaded and soe, like tonight will be later.
My exercise continued with kickboxing tonight and I am really feeling good! The scale has not moved but I feel great and slightly firmer....as long as I can start getting the jiggling under control (long way off) - there is progress!
Oatmeal Cereal Day:
6 oz oatmeal, add 3/4 L of boiling water and boil for 10 minutes on low heat
I bought the RAW Multi Grain Cereal thinking It would be good for the mixed grains day but it has flax and quinoa which is not on the list. Still it's good for another diet ....Oatmeal today and ground a little cacao and put it in the oatmeal (chocolate oatmeal - not bad at all)
I am also using Xylitol as my sugar substitute - tastes most similar to sugar. Per Wikipedia : is a sugar alcohol sweetener used as a naturally occurring sugar substitute. It is found in the fibers of many fruits and vegetables, and can be extracted from various berries, oats, and mushrooms, as well as fibrous material such as corn husks and sugar cane bagasse, and birch. Xylitol is roughly as sweet as sucrose with only two-thirds the food energy.
I hope your day went well and we are just about 1/2 way through the work week! Keep it POSITIVE and just keep going!!
Have a FANTASTIC NIGHT and a WONDERFUL Tomorrow!!!
Your mistakes should be your MOTIVATION, not your EXCUSE! KEEP GOING!
Since I did not go to the grocery store and had all intentions of doing oatmeal today (not Trader Joe's), I opened the refrigerator to find I was completely out of oatmeal. Which had me trying to figure out when the last time it was that I actually bought it and used it. Christmas last year when I made oatmeal raisin cookies for hubby. Pure unadulterated oatmeal has only made it into my house for baking purposes only. So I had to go with the rice.
Those of you that have been following for a while, know I do not like my fruit mixed with anything. I like most fruit (except strawberries and basically any berry) But I like my fruit in it's natural state not mixed, baked or cooked into anything. So going with the rice today, I ate my apples on the side (which ended up being a mix of (4) apples).
When I had read a pound of apples, my first thought - well if one apple a day can keep me away from the doctor, sure as anything a pound will keep me away for a while...only because I'll still be sitting on the toilet unable to actually go to the doctors (or anywhere else for that matter). For some reason I pictured one of those huge bags of apples that are on the end caps in the fruit and veggie aisle being a pound...thankfully not the case!
So my day went like this:
Breakfast: Portion of rice mixture (rice with cinnamon & xylitol), glass of warm water with lemon juice (had to have it somewhere), 1 granny smith apple
Snack: (1) cup Lemon Zinger Tea (hot)
Lunch: Portion of rice mixture, 1 granny smith apple
Dinner: Portion of rice mixture, 1 cup orange juice, 2 small Macintosh apples
Snack: (2) cups Lemon Zinger Tea with a little extra lemon juice (both will be had after I finish blogging and while I am watching tv)
Today a bit rough, especially when you think you are going to have one thing and end up having something else. Tomorrow will be better though - I stopped at health food and grocery store...forgot batteries though (so no pictures) will pick up tomorrow after kickboxing class. Oh, and rice mixture - no so much like rice pudding, more like rice with sugar & cinnamon - sticky and flavorful, just no creamy, eggy, vanilla goodness (but less fat and calories, so there's that).
I hope your Monday went well and you are starting (or continuing) to see positive changes in your body.
Have a wonderful night!
Love yourself and be proud of everything that you do, even mistakes mean you are trying.
