Since I did not go to the grocery store and had all intentions of doing oatmeal today (not Trader Joe's), I opened the refrigerator to find I was completely out of oatmeal. Which had me trying to figure out when the last time it was that I actually bought it and used it. Christmas last year when I made oatmeal raisin cookies for hubby. Pure unadulterated oatmeal has only made it into my house for baking purposes only. So I had to go with the rice.
Those of you that have been following for a while, know I do not like my fruit mixed with anything. I like most fruit (except strawberries and basically any berry) But I like my fruit in it's natural state not mixed, baked or cooked into anything. So going with the rice today, I ate my apples on the side (which ended up being a mix of (4) apples).
When I had read a pound of apples, my first thought - well if one apple a day can keep me away from the doctor, sure as anything a pound will keep me away for a while...only because I'll still be sitting on the toilet unable to actually go to the doctors (or anywhere else for that matter). For some reason I pictured one of those huge bags of apples that are on the end caps in the fruit and veggie aisle being a pound...thankfully not the case!
So my day went like this:
Breakfast: Portion of rice mixture (rice with cinnamon & xylitol), glass of warm water with lemon juice (had to have it somewhere), 1 granny smith apple
Snack: (1) cup Lemon Zinger Tea (hot)
Lunch: Portion of rice mixture, 1 granny smith apple
Dinner: Portion of rice mixture, 1 cup orange juice, 2 small Macintosh apples
Snack: (2) cups Lemon Zinger Tea with a little extra lemon juice (both will be had after I finish blogging and while I am watching tv)
Today a bit rough, especially when you think you are going to have one thing and end up having something else. Tomorrow will be better though - I stopped at health food and grocery store...forgot batteries though (so no pictures) will pick up tomorrow after kickboxing class. Oh, and rice mixture - no so much like rice pudding, more like rice with sugar & cinnamon - sticky and flavorful, just no creamy, eggy, vanilla goodness (but less fat and calories, so there's that).
I hope your Monday went well and you are starting (or continuing) to see positive changes in your body.
Have a wonderful night!
Love yourself and be proud of everything that you do, even mistakes mean you are trying.
