Want to lose weight without giving up junk food - I had posted some information on THE TWINKIE DIET back on 9/19/10 & 11/9/10.......and now I am finally going to do it. I have adjusted the calories for me, a woman. Normally if I would be maintaining my current weight I would consume ABOUT 2,000 calories, in order to lose weight I have to consume 1,200 calories.
The Twinkie Diet may sound too good to be true, but nutrition professor Mark Haub proved you can have your cake and eat it too - by putting himself through THE TWINKIE DIET and losing 27 pounds in 2 months.
Haub, who teaches at Kansas State University, set out to prove that losing weight is simple: it's all about how much you eat, not what you eat.
In other words, you can eat whatever you want, but you have to cut calories.
To test the theory on himself, trimming his calorie intake from 2600 calories per day to about 1800, and eating meals consisting of food typically found in vending machines. He trimmed 800 calories daily from his normal calorie intake. As in past diets, It is suggested that for a woman 2,000 calories daily would be for maintaining weight - I will also drop the 800 calories to 1,200 daily for this Twinkie Diet.
Haub started the diet on Aug. 25 as an experiment for his students, weighing in at 210 pounds, he lost about 27 pounds over the course of two months.
According to his food diary, in an average day he would eat Duncan Hine Brownies, Hostess Twinkies, Cool Ranch Doritos, Little Debbie cakes and Kellogg's corn pops.
Espresso, Double: 6 calories; 0 grams of fat
Hostess Twinkies Golden Sponge Cake: 150 calories; 5 grams of fat
Centrum Advanced Formula From A To Zinc: 0 calories; 0 grams of fat
Little Debbie Star Crunch: 150 calories; 6 grams of fat
Hostess Twinkies Golden Sponge Cake: 150 calories; 5 grams of fat
Diet Mountain Dew: 0 calories; 0 grams of fat
Doritos Cool Ranch: 75 calories; 4 grams of fat
Kellogg's Corn Pops: 220 calories; 0 grams of fat
whole milk: 150 calories; 8 grams of fat
baby carrots: 18 calories; 0 grams of fat
Duncan Hines Family Style Brownie Chewy Fudge: 270 calories; 14 grams of fat
Little Debbie Zebra Cake: 160 calories; 8 grams of fat
Muscle Milk Protein Shake: 240 calories; 9 grams of fat
Totals: 1,589 calories and 59 grams of fat
As stated above he stuck to about 1,800 and from this sample day he didn't hit 1,800 so depending on how full I get from the junk food will determine if I can hit the 1,200. It's all a test. A sugar and salt filled convenience food test.
