What a GLORIOUS Saturday!! Finally the Northeast has SUNSHINE!!!
Spent the majority of day in garage cleaning and trying to prep for a garage sale in the near future! The eating today was sporadic as I was in and out between the yard, garage and house. Meals today are still broken out by breakfast lunch and dinner but note that I ate a little bit here and there - not at specific times.
Breakfast: Latte, 3/4 Cup Unsweetened grapefruit juice
Lunch: Tomato/Mozzarella Caprese Salad, 1 Stick Mozzarella, 1 cup unsweetened applesauce, 15 True North Pistachio crackers.
Dinner: 1-1/2 cup Sugar Snap Peas, 5 oz Chicken Florentine (spinach/ricotta cheese), 1/2 cup homemade rice pudding (had to taste because I am bringing a dessert to sister in laws house for Easter)
**I also had about 10-12 Easter Malted Milk Eggs.
Looking forward to tomorrow and getting together with family! That is the best part of any holiday!
Keeping it short and sweet tonight - I am tired, it's been a Very Long Day!!
A nice thought for the night & for everyday......
Make sure to Color your Life Everyday(don't miss a spot!!!)
Between my period and just being behind all week (maybe the Daylight Savings threw me off ahead of time???) It was a rough week.
The diet itself. Not bad. When I was able to stick to what the diet actually called for I was satisfied. Since I substituted alot during the week I really am surprised I still lost.
I like unsweetened grapefruit juice - I ended up not buying any grapefruits, the convenience of the juice was just so much easier (and you know me "Convenience" is my middle name).
Would I do this diet again. Probably. Do I think it's healthy? Not really. The low calories is what I think brings it to the "UNHEALTHY LEVEL"...the food itself - I ate healthy, smart food choices..just more of them would have bumped up calories to make diet a bit more healthy.
It's a FAD Diet....and with most FAD Diets they promise quick weight loss and in most cases it's water weight. I think me getting my period at the start of the diet provided me with a realization that no matter what diet you are on it's going to be hard during any diet (1) to stick with it when you have MAD CRAVINGS for regular food and (2) water weight is water weight, it usually comes back after you stop dieting. It's losing the real pounds that keep you motivated.....
Last FULL day of the Grapefruit Diet. Looking forward to starting the RIchard Simmons FOOD MOVER diet tomorrow....
All week (for the most part) the diet had (2) slices of bacon every day for breakfast. I used to buy the Oscar Meyer pre-made bacon & just nuke it when I wanted bacon (I hated the mess of cooking & clean up-Plus as you ALL know by now I am all about convenience)....but the cost is ridiculous...you get about 10 slices for about $3.99. I started buying my bacon at the Amish Market last year and they have a Maple Bacon that is absolutely wonderful. Watching one of my favorite channels (Food Network) Alton Brown was talking about cooking bacon in the oven....I watched the episode with amazement! This is when I purchased my first package of bacon at Amish Market.
Anyway....it's so easy, bacon shrinks, but not as much if as when you do it on the stove top and clean up is a breeze.....I double up the aluminum foil on a cookie sheet (with edges) and then just lay the bacon out (they can over lap a little) put cookie sheet with bacon in a COLD OVEN on the lowest shelf (or the one just above) put oven on 375 and just keep an eye on, in about 8-15 (depending on how crisp you want it) minutes you have bacon made without the mess......pull cookie sheet out, take your bacon off (put on paper towels to take off excess grease and one cookie pan is cool, fold up foil - throw out and you are done!! If an entire package is too much for your household, make the entire package & the slices you don't use, wrap in wax paper & foil & freeze. Bacon reheats in seconds in the microwave.
As you know I had the "South of the Border" Birthday party today...I tried to be good (some calories counts might be off)

Not as bad as I could have been....made sure to drink ALOT of water between bites to fill up. As far as the candy goes, I sat at end of table where the candy dishes were pushed to and they were right here....an easy snap & grab for a quick candy fix....I WAS A BAAAAAAAD GIRL!!!!
Tomorrow is another day and a new start to the week (plus period is over!!)
No Gain...No Loss! Rainy here on in the Northeast.....and will be for the next few days.
Yesterday I made reference to CHILLER THEATER and B Movies.....I must be part psychic! Last night on TMC (Turner Movie Classics) there was a plethora of B Movies on.....The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, It Came From Beneath the Sea, The Monster That Challenged World, THEM! (Mutant Ants), Shanks (turns cadavers into marionettes, Mr. Sardonicus....I missed Shanks & Mr. Sardonicus...too tired ....the first three movies were black & white, THEM was re-colorized....good for a laugh movies (just by names only).....
In an attempt to break free of my "period" plateau....I went with fish for lunch & dinner...plus knowing about the "South of the Border" birthday party tomorrow - I am really trying to be good!!

Overall day went fairly well. I stuck to what I set out to eat and I am satisfied.
It continues to rain here & winds are very strong. We started to see a little water in our basement....so I am hoping the rain stops soon! The ground is saturated!
Down .4 pounds. IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY!!!! Long, Long L.O.N.G. week......My period has me in a limbo holding area....hoping like last month once it's over I drop any extra water weight and show a significant loss.....
Today was a bit of a challenge because during Lent we do not eat meat on Fridays....so I had to improvise with high protein items that aren't meat. We are usually all for the PIZZA....!!!! Hubby is trying to be good too (plus I don't think he wants to bring a pizza in the house and see the aftermath)....

Total Calories for Day: 905
We were supposed to have fish (Tilapia) for dinner and it was still frozen - so while waiting around deciding what to have - I snacked on a couple of crackers, cheese & a little peanut butter...Being prepared is the best remedy against falling off the diet wagon.
This entire week has been a mish mash of rushing to get something together whether it was for lunch or dinner. I felt totally out of control this week. I am hoping I can salvage the rest of the weekend before Monday weigh-in. Of course there is always the Monkey Wrench thrown in (see below)...
Sunday (the last day of diet) is going to be a challenge. Another birthday party and the "theme" for food is Mexican Fiesta....all take out from South of The Border........plus I am guessing the usual chips, dips, candies and cake.......Another day of me drinking SEVERAL bottles of water to keep full and limit the fried (YUMMY) items (not on the diet).........
Take time to ENJOY life. It passes too quickly. We get caught up in "LIFE" and the things that really matter....Our Family, Our Friends, Our Self ...gets put aside for another day. Don't wait for the next day or the day after - - EMBRACE ALL YOU LOVE NOW!
I have been completely out of whack since the whole running behind yesterday. I am not longer organized....I think I am over tired between the new job (learning new things), my period and just keeping up with reading all the new "diet" books I took out from the library......
A nice little benefit with the new job!! They have either breakfast (bagels, etc) once a month for the employees or a BBQ.....today they had a BBQ. Trying to be good I went with a cheeseburger (they were already made when I went to get one so I had to take one with cheese) but I took the roll off! I skipped on the coleslaw salad & the potato chips......I was good!!
THEN........I made the mistake of giving into a SUGAAAAR CRAAAAAVING......In my mind I am saying that like the old TV show that used to be on back in the 70's (yeah, I am not that young).....Remember CHILLER THEATER???? The hand (and part of arm) came out of ground and then the words (and someone's voice) would say CHILLLLLLLLLER THEAAAAAAAATER....or what about Creature Feature....I love the old scary movies (so fake & so funny) They are truly classics!
Or B-Movies.......???!!! I could stay up LITERALLY all night (and yes I have & still do - I made hubby stay up too, now he is hooked!!)....when they run marathons (sorta like Twilight Zone)...I have to watch them all, no matter how many times I have seen them!!
I am getting away from my slip today....Yes, I had candy. My Choice was not my first choice, I would have preferred SOur Patch Watermelon Slices but the local convenience store was out of them...
Here is how the days meals went.....
Breakfast: 1/2 Cup Grapefruit Juice 45 calories, 2 egg whites & 1 full Eggs 160 calories, 2 Slices of Bacon 60 calories. Tea 40 calories. Total calories 305.
Lunch:1/2 Cup Grapefruit Juice 45 calories, 4oz. Plain Cheeseburger (no roll) 300 calories. Total calories 345
Candy Snack: Ran out after I had lunch (I craved something sweet) bought a small bag of Cherry Nibs - I threw bag out without writing down the calories...but basically it's sugar...Per The Grapefruit Diet Info.....it completely eliminates sugar(I BLEW IT HERE)....A Guess at calories - 200
Dinner: 1/2 Cup Grapefruit Juice 45 calories, 6 oz. Chicken Breast 240 calories, 2 CUps Spinach Salad, light dressing 90 calories. Total Calories 375
Skipped Night Snack....trying to make up for he candy I had at lunch........
Total Calories for Day: 1,225
Calories are a bit over for the day. The candy did me in as far as calories go. But I had it and I have to move on. Tomorrow is another day .
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. . . .Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself
The low intake of calories yesterday brought me back down 1.2 pounds....I still feel yucky. Usually the 1-2 days of "that time of month" I am just not feeling okay. Just bloatie & gross feeling....I am just so happy it's once a month!!
OH - OH - OH....to answer a question you might be asking yourself....Y.E.S. I CRAVE CHOCOLATE!!!
Last night they had a show on TV (I think Food Network) "THE BEST THING I EVER ATE"....One item was a layer cake (looked like 20 layers) of moist chocolate cake with a chocolate custard filling and ganache frosting.....it was like a freakin' car wreck, I should have looked away but I was drawn to it.....I inhaled a bottle of water (one of many "helpful hints" while your dieting to fill the need....) THAT IS TOTAL CRAP!!!! Changing the channel might of been a better idea but I couldn't wait to see what the next "BEST THING" was...I am a glutton for punishment!!!!!
Breakfast:1/2 Cup Grapefruit Juice 45 calories, 2 egg whites & 1 full Eggs 160 calories, 2 Slices of Bacon 60 calories. Total calories 265

Total Calories for Day: 799
Back on track today and all is going well. I started thinking about what I can have on this diet compared to past diets and in a comparison this diet is similar in alot of ways to the 6WBMO. Although, I am not eating 6 meals a day (or the butter) , I am allowed as much as I want at each meal and at each meal there is alot of protein. Other than just not being really hungry yesterday, I am satisfied. I am eating until full but not stuffed. Having the grapefruit every meal is okay - I am not sure if the grapefruit really does anything, maybe the tartness and acidity helps breakdown the fat?? Who knows. It is a FAD DIET and I am going to throw a few of these in between other (healthier???) diets.
Next weeks diet is the Richard Simmons "Food Mover" Diet. It's an updated version of the "Deal A Meal" program. More information will be on side bar (hopefully) by Saturday. I bought the Food Mover on EBAY and just got and started playing around with it.
If you read yesterdays post regarding BRAS.....I forgot to mention an issue that comes up towards the middle to the end of the day. Do you have have the problem where you adjust the boobs around and look in the mirror and for obvious reasons the nipples aren't pointing in the correct forward position and you have to keep moving things around until all is right in the world?
It's just a curious question. Guys have to adjust (but they make it REAL OBVIOUS - check out baseball players, you can't miss it...on National TV!!!)...not like us, we go into the bathroom (or other room) and make appropriate adjustments.
Here's hoping all your parts are facing the right direction with minimal adjustments needed :0)
