Loss for week – ZERO –
This is due to the 2 day business trip interruption (and my careless regard for eating good while away)
Do I think I would have lost this week if I did not have the business trip - ABSOLUTELY!
I can do without seeing or tasting it for awhile, actually until the first snow of winter and I need a piping hot bowl of the stuff.
It kept me full no doubt. But it was a FAD DIET.
Any diet that relies on one food item as the focal point is a FAD DIET.
Oatmeal is filling and has a plethora of health benefits – in my case I was regular as clockwork (TMI). Oatmeal is a whole grain and being that I ate the Steel-cut Oatmeal I am guessing that I got as whole grain as it comes. I did also fill up on water between bites – if I hadn’t I am not sure if I would have been as satisfied as I was.
Between the softness of the diet (warm oatmeal and low fat yogurt) I think I got a tunnel vision into my retirement years when I revert to eating only soft foods (absolutely against my will) but if I lose my teeth for whatever reason and gumming is the only way to go, then this diet will pretty much be it.
Would I do it again……Only two instances come to mind (1) after surgery and I am forced to a bland soft diet, (2) in my retirement (see above)
Would I recommend it - - not really.
Oatmeal is delicious, I have nothing against – but it was a tough week (and this was even with the business trip interruption for two days).
