Down another .8 - still heading in the RIGHT direction!! I have to go back over the last few days because I think I miscalculated the loss/gains over a couple of days....
Menu the same as yesterday:
Breakfast: 1/2 cup unsweetened grapefruit juice, latte, TJ's Steelcut Oatmeal
Lunch: 1 cup non fat yogurt (went to grocery store), TJ's Steelcut Oatmeal
Dinner: TJ's Steelcut Oatmeal
Low calories - but full (and regular, thank you very much) from the oatmeal. All those commercials about eating oatmeal to lower your cholesterol must be right because I think I am just releasing it the other end.....(TMI - I know)
Good day today. Went to a Big Book Sale in the area and got about $150 in books for $40. Summer reading and misc reference books - I am stocked up!! Joke for the day was that I am doing a garage sale within the next coupe of Saturdays - so the books I bought today will be in a garage sale come September, gotta remember someones else's trash is another's treasure!!
As you already know I listen to audio books to/from work everyday - right now listening to Karin Slaughter (mystery/forensics/crime) pretty good. Today I bought a few books that looked like good summer reading - a couple of the titles were funny so they were a must.....
Startled by His Furry Shorts by Louise Rennison
Younger by Pamela Redmond Satran
Candy Freak by Steve Almond
Embracing your Big Fat Ass (AN owners Manual) by Laura Banks & Janette Barber
The last one EMBRACING YOUR BIG FAT ASS....was the first one I picked up - for the simple fact that the back cover encourages you to embrace what you have including all the lumpier parts!
I like to read - I like the fact that I can pick up a book and be transported someplace else - it's the same reason why I also love movies.....I love the characters, the scenery, the banter back and forth of a great story. I like to immerse myself to the point that I feel like I am in the movie or the story of the book just there along fo the ride.
Other than the weight I am trying to lose - I like to get away from everyday life and it's worries. There is no one to judge what I look like, what I wear, what I say or how I feel. It's an unconditional love of one person seeking the solace of the book or movie that removes me from the everyday normal that does not condemn. In many ways, like a favorite pet that loves you for you unconditionally. My cat (Booby) does not give a rats ass if I decide to wear my pajamas an entire day and not take a shower (this was the norm when I wasn't working a real regular job)....all she cared about was being fed and being around me.
It's a treat to pick up a book or catch a movie. It is something that will not put weight on you (unless you stop at the concession stand and load up on a Super Popcorn, a Bag of M & Ms and a Diet Coke....which by the way being "diet" wipes out the candy....ONLY KIDDING).
Treat yourself and LOVE ALL YOUR PARTS...LUMPY ONES TOO!!
Have a FANTASTIC NIGHT!!!!
