Okay, I thought I would squeeze in a liquid diet before I start my new job. I went with the Cambridge (FFL - Fit For Life) Diet.
It's 3-4 shakes a day @ 140 calories per shake. (See side bar for more specifics)
Since I am only doing a week and like last weeks diet (6WBMO) I did "RAPID RESULTS"...I thought doing Cambridge's "FAST START" would keep me on track...
Cambridge Drink Flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Cappuccino and Eggnog.
CAmbridge Soups: Chicken, Potato, Mushroom and Tomato.
Cambridge Bars: Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Strawberry, Coconut Cream & Caramel.
They also have Chocolate Pudding, and Oatmeal.
I went with the Eggnog Flavor. I know it sounds odd...but I could buy Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla at the store in Slim Fast or another brand...Who has Eggnog...RIGHT!!??
So let me start by saying I made it through the day. It's a BIG CHANGEfrom last weeks diet of eating every 2-3 hours to spreading out 3-4 shakes and other non-caloric liquids. I had my first shake at about 10:30am this morning. I was pretty full after it. Then by 12:30pm, I was ready to eat an entire pizza by myself....BUT went with the shake. I started to come down with a head cold (I think I got it from my Dad's girlfriend when I visited the other day)....I ended up laying down for about 3 hours...which of course made part of the day a little easier to get through. Last shake I had at 6:30pm. I am feeling okay (except for head cold) ~ definitely not bloated or over full.
I am not going to have the 4th shake at this point. It's about 7:30pm and I feel okay, plus I might go to bed early to try & knock this cold out. Starting new job Monday ~ I do not want to be sick on my first day!
Oh and how depressing was just thinking about a bathing suit (last blog entry)???? After seeing that email and scanning the bathing suits....IT MADE ME WANT TO EAT.
Why does food have to be so good? There are so many variations and it doesn't help that TV executives created the FOOD NETWORK. When I was younger my main concern as far as food was is "I can't wait to drive" then I could drive to mall and get a "Hot Sams" Pretzel (remember them)? or to be able to get to McDonald's at lunch time (because back then they weren't on practically every corner and you were guaranteed fresh perfectly made french fries.
Now, I flip on TV and Giada (I LOVE HER) is making an awesome dish and I have to run out and get all ingredients to make, or Bobby Flay is doing a Showdown with some girls in Vermont & their famous Brownies (YES, I ordered them...only a small box, not here yet ~ thinking they where okay to order as they can be frozen ~ let's hope I can get them from delivery person to freezer without inhaling every last morsel) They are Brownies with Goat Cheese instead of cream cheese filling, they just sounded incredible....here's a link to check them out http://www.vermontbrowniecompany.com/
I am seriously trying to be good - but it is hard & I am a snacker..BIG TIME...I like goodies. This is a Diet Blog and food is an issue for me and whoever is reading (unless you just like my funny banter ~ thank you!!). It doesn't go away. We need it to survive. It's like I said previously, it's real life, I diet, I crave and I have to keep going. It's not easy.
